American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position at a Level I Trauma Center in Illinois, requiring prior urban ED experience and an active IL RN license.
Details- Night shift schedule (3x12-hour shifts), 19:00–07:30
- Work in a combined adult/pediatric general emergency department at a Level I Trauma Center
- Patient ratio of 1:4
- Every other weekend requirement
- Floating is required
- Epic EMR (preferred experience)
- Block scheduling requests are not available for this position
- Active IL RN license currently in hand (pending licenses not accepted)
- Minimum 1–2 years of RN experience in an urban, Level I Trauma ED
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS
- Preferred certifications: TNCC, CPI
- Level I Trauma Center experience required
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Epic EMR experience preferred
- Competency with a broad range of ED skills including trauma, cardiac monitoring, respiratory management, IV therapy, emergency medications, triage, and psychiatric care
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates are accepted
- Former permanent or PRN staff from any University of Chicago Medicine location must have been separated for at least 7 months before being eligible to return as a traveler
- RTO is limited to a maximum of 7 days; no RTO during the first or last week of the contract
- Non-billable orientation modules (2–3 hours) are completed during orientation and vary by profession
- Any schedule requests must be communicated prior to offer acceptance; requests made after the offer is accepted or onsite will not be honored
