American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position at a Level I Trauma Center in Illinois, requiring prior urban ED experience and an active IL RN license.

• Night shift schedule (3x12-hour shifts), 19:00–07:30
• Work in a combined adult/pediatric general emergency department at a Level I Trauma Center
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Every other weekend requirement
• Floating is required
• Epic EMR (preferred experience)
• Block scheduling requests are not available for this position

• Active IL RN license currently in hand (pending licenses not accepted)
• Minimum 1–2 years of RN experience in an urban, Level I Trauma ED
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS
• Preferred certifications: TNCC, CPI
• Level I Trauma Center experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• Competency with a broad range of ED skills including trauma, cardiac monitoring, respiratory management, IV therapy, emergency medications, triage, and psychiatric care

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates are accepted
• Former permanent or PRN staff from any University of Chicago Medicine location must have been separated for at least 7 months before being eligible to return as a traveler
• RTO is limited to a maximum of 7 days; no RTO during the first or last week of the contract
• Non-billable orientation modules (2–3 hours) are completed during orientation and vary by profession
• Any schedule requests must be communicated prior to offer acceptance; requests made after the offer is accepted or onsite will not be honored
