American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Medical Surgical unit position requiring an active IL RN license and BLS/ACLS certifications.

• Work in a Medical Surgical unit within a hospital setting
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 6:45 to 19:15
• Required to work every other weekend
• Floating required
• Uses Epic charting system

• Active IL RN license required in hand
• Current certifications: BLS and ACLS required, NIHSS preferred
• Minimum 1 year of experience required
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring and emergency response
• Skilled in interpretation of dysrhythmias, with management of dysrhythmias preferred
• Experience with Rapid Response/Code teams
• Skilled in respiratory care including nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, oxygen administration, and tracheostomy care/management
• Skilled in IV therapy/phlebotomy and peripheral line care/management

• Provide medical surgical nursing care including respiratory support and IV therapy
• Utilize Rapid Response/Code teams as needed for emergency situations
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
• RTO limited to a maximum of 7 days with no more than 3 days consecutive, and no RTO during the first or last week of the contract
• Former University of Chicago Medicine or Ingalls permanent staff must have separated from employment for at least 7 months to be eligible as a traveler
