DescriptionAmerican Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a 13-week day shift assignment requiring an IL RN license and at least 2 years of experience.
Details- Work in the Medical Surgical unit of a hospital setting
- Patient ratio of 1:6
- Every other weekend required
- Floating required
- Uses Epic charting system
- Patient care includes telemetry, respiratory, and tracheostomy care/management
- Skills include cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and interpretation/management of dysrhythmias
- Active IL RN license required in hand
- Current certifications: BLS and ACLS required, CPI and NIHSS preferred
- Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg nursing experience required
- Epic charting system experience
- Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical unit including monitoring for cardiac dysrhythmias and respiratory/tracheostomy management
- RTO limited to a maximum of 7 days, with no more than 3 days requested and none during the first or last week of the contract
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
- Former staff of University of Chicago Medicine or Ingalls Memorial Hospital must have a 7-month break in employment before returning as a traveler
- Non-billable orientation modules (2-3 hours) are completed during onboarding
