Essential Job Functions
Start the screening process (Residency, screening appointment, paperwork, etc.) Connect families with needed resources (medical, transportation, etc.) Community partnerships - SHSD
151 parents as teachers, CASE, etc. Coordinate parent support group connect families new to preschool with "veteran" families Work collaboratively with families, Preschool For All staff, and community partners to ensure that the program meets the needs of the whole child and supports parents/guardians in addressing family needs, as well as helping parents to set up ambitious family goals Coordinate implementation of parent education opportunities Assist parents in establishing primary care medical, dental, and mental health providers Provide families with support and referral services Implement and support activities to ensure a strong connection between home and school, including take home learning activities Support program efforts to recruit, screen, and enroll at-risk children Support parents in ensuring student attendance Assist in maintaining student files and updating Student Information System Perform other incidental tasks consistent with both the goals and objectives of the Illinois Conduct a variety of programs for parents and children at flexible times of the day to accommodate parent needs Facilitate parent education, playgroups, and family development programs Maintain records for all meeting agendas, facilitators, presenters, and meeting attendance (e.g., parent sign-in sheets) Coordinate resources (e.g., transportation, child care, etc.)
for the purpose of providing the parent an opportunity to become an active participant in school activities/organizations Evaluate effectiveness of program activities periodically Collaborate with local and state agencies Maintain needed supplies and equipment for program activities Coordinate transportation for students
Knowledge and Skills
Must have own transportation Computer skills required Spanish speaking preferred Education and Credentialing Associate or Bachelor's Degree preferred Valid Paraprofessional Certificate
