Nuclear Quality Assurance Manager

We are seeking an onsite Nuclear Quality Assurance Manager in our Nuclear division to join the Corporate QA team at our company headquarters. In this role, the Nuclear Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for the overall development, implementation, and effectiveness of the Quality Assurance Program. The successful candidate will lead a systematic approach to the company's Quality Assurance Program, ensuring that corporate programs, pump repairs, and services comply with established nuclear requirements.

Essential Job Accountabilities:

  • Establish and maintain a quality program conforming to the requirements of NCA 3500 of ASME section III and take responsibility
  • Providing direction, guidance, and support to all levels of the organization relating to quality issues
  • Provide opinions of Codes and standards as they relate to the fabrications of section III and 10 CFR 50 Appendixes B
  • Review and approve customers' POs and repair plans as required
  • Support authorized nuclear inspectors and supervisors during semi-annual and recertification audits
  • Provide support for NDE and Level III functions of the Nuclear Quality Program
  • Ensure that the people performing Quality functions receive the necessary training to maintain their qualifications and perform their tasks adequately
  • Make sure that the surveying, qualifying, and auditing of suppliers, including material organizations, meet the ASME requirements
  • Provide a controlled system for review, release, and revisions of fabrication documents to maintain controls
  • Develop and review policies and procedures that show conformance to codes and standards
  • Provide and train procedures for control/review/ and distribution
  • Assist with the administration, implementation, and oversight of the quality assurance program for manufacturing pumps and parts
  • Perform Lead Auditor activities, including internal and external audits, supplier assessments, reviews of supplier programs, and control maintenance of ASL associated with suppliers
  • Determine root causes and provide recommendations to eliminate nonconforming issues
  • Interface with management and other associates meeting customers, ANI, and oversight organizations, witness points in accordance with quality program requirements
  • Participate in Hydro Aire business objectives with meeting plans, forecasts, and other company metrics and goals
  • Participate in other program maintenance and forecast activities as directed by safety and quality
  • Serve as point person in delegations for all safety and quality programs, customer documentation rework, or other quality-related issues in the absence of the VP/President of Safety and Quality

Competency:

To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:

  • Expert knowledge of industry standards such as ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, National Board and Inspection Codes and Standards
  • Well-versed in 10

    CFR
    50 Appendix B as applied to a fabrication shop
  • Working knowledge of ANSI N45.2 and ANSI Daughter Standards and other piping codes

Requirements and

Qualifications:

BSME plus ten years of QA or QC experience preferred. Experience with material standards, manufacturing, and special processes. Previous experience in a production environment is essential. Five to ten years of experience working with codes and standards. Strong written and oral communication skills. Proven ability to manage others. Excellent computer skills in all Microsoft Office software.
