Description of WorkUnder the direct supervision of the Building Maintenance Manager, performs a variety of semi-skilled and skilled tasks for preventive and restorative maintenance of various City buildings and facilities including, but not limited to:
Museum, Library, North Denver Station, City Hall, City Auditorium, etc. Maintains public grounds, equipment, buildings and facilities for the City. When necessary, coordinates work with contractors and vendors.
Any combination of training and experience equivalent to graduation from high school plus 5 years of experience in general maintenance or construction experience. General knowledge and experience with HVAC, plumbing and electrical; maintaining sprinkler/fountain systems, remote opening gates and structure maintenance. Electrical Journeyman preferred. Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
Essential Functions of the Job- Performs routine preventive and restorative maintenance, adjustments, and repair of office lighting, dehumidifiers, HVAC humidifiers/filters, door locks, gates, roof components, Fisher Fountain including operation of computer controlled fountain system, overhead doors, and working with plumbers on restrooms fixtures.
- Administrative duties including record keeping for work activities, responding to phone calls and emails, creating purchase orders, and research and recommendations for equipment replacement.
- Professional interaction with sales people and vendors including coordinating building and grounds maintenance with contractors and acquiring pricing and information for repairs and maintenance.
- Cleans and maintains assigned work areas and vehicle wash bay along with monthly fire extinguisher inspections and daily fuel tank readings.
- Maintains expense receipts for City issued credit card, and charges to the facility accounts.
- Performs Ice and Snow removal for various facilities.
40 hours per week, Monday - Friday.
