The maintenance technician position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment. Supports and complies with predictive, and productive maintenance systems, and processes to support the achievement of the site’s business goals and objectives. Makes suggestions for simpler, smarter, and more effective ways to achieve the objectives undertaken by the maintenance department.

Expected to consider Safety, Quality, Service, and Profitability objectives at all times.

• Assists with the performance and productivity objectives of the Department and for the equipment in the facility.
• Must be Safety orientated
• Routine and emergency Maintenance of plant equipment
• Troubleshoots electrical and or mechanical problems
• Completes project work as needed
• Member must be highly motivated and maintain high performance levels
• Participates in the Preventive maintenance of all plant equipment
• Assists with the gathering of information to maintain computerized PM program.
• Assist with new equipment installation and or equipment relocation.
• Supports Maintenance of facilities and equipment to meet MS, OSHA and U.S.D.A. standards.
• Improves uptime of facilities through machine modification, adjustments, and machine Maintenance.
• Other duties as assigned

• Repair machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization.
• Insure all record keeping is accomplished correctly so Maintenance records are accurate.
• Work with maintenance department to maintain equipment in best mechanical operating condition.
• Carries out responsibilities in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.

• To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Experience with GMP's, HAACP, sanitation, process improvement, plant safety programs, and quality assurance.

• 2 years of experience with preventive maintenance systems in a manufacturing facility
• Ground beef experience preferred
• Industrial maintenance experience is preferred
• Basic Electrical experience/understanding is required. Willingness to learn is essential.
• Must be willing to share skills to help others develop and possess excellent communication skills.
• Committed to providing a high level of detail and pride towards equipment maintenance, projects, general
• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Must be able to complete PM documentation paperwork accurately

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively with employees and management.

• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

• Ability to solve complex and practical problems and deal with a variety of variables and in situations where only limited experience may exist. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
