Maintenance Technician

We are looking for a Maintenance Tech to join our team at Coastal Community Action. Coastal Community Action is a private nonprofit corporation providing a variety of services to low‑income children and families in ten counties in eastern North Carolina, with a mission of empowering them to become self‑sufficient.

• Complete any needed maintenance as directed in accordance with OSHA safety regulations.
• Monitor condition of facilities and perform repairs on the spot when possible, making recommendations for contracting when necessary.
• Maintain and repair building plumbing and electrical systems, including replacing worn or defective parts such as switches, fuses and bulbs.
• Maintain inventory of tools and equipment in good working condition.
• Perform carpentry duties such as painting, furniture assembly and repair; move furniture and other equipment as necessary; adjust air vents and air handling filters; repair faucets and toilet valves.
• Conduct inventories of equipment, supplies, and products.
• Be responsible for the upkeep of playground and other outside child activity spaces.

• Three or more years of related experience, including construction experience.
• First Aid and CPR certification, or the ability to acquire certification within 60 days of employment.
• Valid background clearance.
