Immediate vacancy is with the Department of Transportation, Airports Division. Applicants must be willing and able to work rotating shifts, including evenings, weekends and holidays.

Supervises and participates in keeping assigned buildings and building areas clean and orderly, including heavy lifting, cleaning places and equipment which are not easily accessible, simple building repair work and operating industrial type cleaning equipment; and performs other related duties as assigned.

• Legal Authorization to Work
  :
  The State of Hawaii requires all persons seeking employment with the government of the State to be citizens, nationals, or permanent resident aliens of the United States, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment in the United States.
• General Experience
  : TWO (2) YEARS of janitorial or related custodial work such as sweeping, dusting and cleaning of buildings.
• Supervisory Aptitude
  :
  Applicants must possess supervisory aptitude. Supervisory aptitude is demonstrated through successful completion of regular or special assignments that involve some supervisory responsibilities, such as serving as a group or team leader, or through completion of training courses in supervision coupled with application of supervisory skills. Favorable appraisals by a supervisor may also indicate possession of supervisory potential.
• Driver's License
  :
  Some positions require possession of a valid driver's license at the time of appointment. The immediate vacancy has this requirement.
• Federal Criminal History Records Check
  :
  Persons considered for positions requiring unescorted access to secured airport areas must undergo a pre‑employment fingerprint‑based criminal history record check. Candidates must not have been convicted, or found “not guilty by reason of insanity,” of a disqualifying criminal offense within the past ten years.
