Part-time Custodian; Kauai

Overview

Custodian position with Hawaiian Building Maintenance (HBM) in Poipu, HI. The role involves cleaning and maintaining a commercial location, keeping common areas clean, maintaining cleaning supplies inventory, and reporting maintenance issues. Previous experience in janitorial or housekeeping is preferred but not mandatory. HBM prescreen check is required; a valid Hawaii driver’s license is preferred.

  Friday 5:30 PM–9:30 PM;

• Compensation: $17.50 per hour

• Maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of all common areas within the facility.
• Operate a golf cart to navigate the property.
• Clean and organize office spaces to uphold a professional environment.
• Clean and maintain six restrooms; restock restroom supplies; ensure restrooms are clean and sanitary.
• Use vacuum equipment to thoroughly clean indoor flooring.
• Sweep and mop interior and exterior floors; clean glass doors and mirrors to a high standard.
• Disinfect frequently touched surfaces and wipe down tables and chairs to promote hygiene.
• Collect and dispose of trash from designated areas; lift, push, pull, carry trash as needed; safely maneuver trash bins and navigate staircases.

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Effective verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to access and navigate two floors via elevator and stairways.
• Physical capability to lift, bend, and handle trash disposal tasks (minimum 30 lbs, up to 50 lbs).
• HBM prescreen check required.
• Valid Hawaii driver's license preferred.
• Experience operating a golf cart preferred.
• Familiarity with cleaning equipment such as vacuums and floor maintenance tools.
