Maintenance Technician / Mechanic, Heavy Equipment Mechanic
Responsibilities
Tests and diagnoses equipment to detect faults; operates machine, runs engine, or may use motor analyser or there device to detect faulty engine performance or defects in ignition or electrical systems.
Restores defective equipment to service; adjusts and repairs ignition and fuel systems; adjust tie rods, brakes, steering gear and clutch assemblies; adjusts distributor breaker points, gaps, and other components.
Sharpens lawn mower blades by using a bed knife and reel grinding devices. Adjusts height of mower blades to meet cutting specifications.
Conducts final inspection and testing of repaired equipment before placing it in service.
Reports damage or abuse of equipment to supervisor.
Maintains Safety Data Sheets and assures all chemicals are handled in a safe manner.
Researches catalogs, manuals and price parts and or services through the use of a computer. Keeps a current inventory of parts held in stock for maintenance of equipment , keeps records of,: (1) all repairs, and, (2) preventative maintenance.
QualificationsPossess general knowledge of golf course maintenance equipment.
Must have the ability to read and comprehend equipment repair manuals.
