Maintenance Assistant

Position Overview

Maintenance Assistant – Duties:
Work under the Director of Facilities to ensure maintenance and repairs of the facility, and that all equipment and systems operate safely. Requires knowledge of building maintenance techniques and equipment operation in a hospital setting (emergency generator, auto transfer switch, boilers, plumbing, heating, cooling, electrical system, sanitation, water systems). Responsible for driving in the Transportation Department as needed for patient care and community needs.

Available for night and weekend call work.

• Execute work under direction of the Director of Facilities to maintain the facility and keep equipment and systems functioning properly and safely.
• Apply building maintenance techniques and equipment operation knowledge in a hospital setting.
• Drive in the Transportation Department for patient care and community needs.
• Work nights and weekends on call.

• High school graduate or graduate of a technical school (desired) or education level sufficient to have gained the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform basic maintenance functions.
• Two years of general experience in maintenance type work.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Must pass required state and federal background checks per NRS 449 and NRS 200.5091.

Salary: $28.00/hr (non‑exempt). On‑call: $5.00/hr.
