Job SummaryThe Parking Meter Technician maintains and repairs parking meters to ensure they function correctly. This driving position requires a valid CA Driver’s License held for at least 2 years.
HoursFull‑time: 6:45 am–3:15 pm Monday‑Friday or Tuesday‑Saturday
PrincipalJob Duties
- Install new parking meters and perform routine maintenance and repairs.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with parking meters.
- Keep records of maintenance activities and meter statuses.
- Coordinate with the site supervisor to address and prioritize meter issues.
- Assist Supervisor with coin revenue collection from meters.
- Assist with any special assignments and projects as requested.
- Other related duties as assigned.
- High School graduate or equivalent.
- General knowledge of streets and directions required.
- Repair and maintenance of electronic equipment.
- Installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining electronic parking meters or similar equipment.
- Communicating with clients and field personnel, receiving feedback and taking reports from field issues.
- Receiving shipments, maintaining inventory logs, and organizing pallets in a warehouse.
- Online and Android software used to manage and troubleshoot equipment issues.
- Ability to work independently and multi‑task.
- Ability to interpret policies, procedures, and standard business practices.
- Demonstrate a sense of urgency and timeliness.
- Open to feedback, differing opinions, and other points of view.
- Ability to speak, read, and comprehend English.
- Technology savvy.
- Possess an electrical/mechanical aptitude or willingness to learn new skills.
- Ability to handle electronic equipment and parts.
- Ability to utilize hand tools and electronics testing devices as required.
- Safety minded.
- Willingness to work in the elements—heat, wind, snow, rain, etc.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull at least 50 pounds with assistance.
- Ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time (95–100% of shift).
- Ability to bend, stoop, squat, and lift frequently throughout a shift.
- Ability to handle pallet jack manually.
