The Warehouse Technician will perform, under the direct supervision and guidance of the Branch Manager, a variety of tasks relative to managing inventory. The primary role of this position is to carry out the logistics of receiving, processing, storing, and managing inventory according to jobs and branch needs. This position reports directly to the Branch Manager/Operations Manager of that location. Interfacing with other departments within the company is required.
Key Responsibilities- Responsible for maintaining a clean and organized warehouse ensuring that all merchandise is safely and securely packaged and labeled for use.
- Receive, review, and generate requests for supply orders.
- Receive, unload, and place incoming items appropriately. Coordinate, schedule, and deliver supplies directly to jobs as requested.
- Maintain inventory of all merchandise entering or exiting the warehouse while managing all merchandise with appropriate care.
- Identify any missing, lost, or damaged materials and immediately notify the Manager.
- Receive contents, load them in and out of vaults, as well as coordinate schedule and deliver back to clients.
- Responsible for preparing work trucks before the beginning of the workday. This includes driving them out of the warehouse and making sure they are clean and ready.
- Regular use of forklift to handle warehouse merchandise.
- May be required to assist with any general jobs when necessary.
- Perform any necessary janitorial work in the branch when needed.
- Work experience using basic hand tools, in a construction or similar work environment.
- Work experience in a warehouse setting with ability to operate a forklift and pallet jack.
- Ability to maintain inventory information accurately.
- General understanding of basic safety protocols.
- Physically fit to perform duties described above.
- Required a valid driver’s license
- Possess dexterity, good sense of balance, good eye/hand coordination.
- Good grasp of English language (written and verbal) is a plus.
- Ability to communicate clearly and accurately to Lead Technician or Superintendent when necessary.
- Approved Respirator physical and fit testing
- Basic understanding on use of power tools and mild chemicals.
- Ability to work with various building materials.
- Ability to read and understand basic written instructions.
- Use of good judgement, works well under pressure.
- Regulatory Requirements:
Adhere to all local, state, and federal safety regulations, including OSHA and EPA standards. - Personal Protective Equipment (PPE):
Required PPE may include gloves, masks, goggles, hard hats, and safety footwear. All employees must wear PPE as required for their specific roles and job site conditions. - Ergonomic Practices:
Practice ergonomic principles to prevent musculoskeletal disorders. This includes proper desk setup, using adjustable chairs, and maintaining good posture while seated. - Office Safety Protocols:
