The 4th Grade Teacher provides instruction that engages students in meaningful learning aligned with the Illinois Learning Standards and district curriculum. The teacher creates a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports the academic, social and emotional development of each student. The position requires a strong commitment to collaboration, continuous improvement and equitable learning opportunities for all students.
Education, Certification, and Licensure- Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Elementary Education or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Licensure: Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with an Elementary Education (K–9) endorsement.
- Knowledge of Illinois Learning Standards and research-based instructional practices.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain an effective classroom learning environment.
- Prior successful teaching experience at the elementary level preferred.
- Experience using data-driven instruction to inform lesson planning and improve student outcomes.
- Experience supporting students with diverse academic and social-emotional needs.
- Experience implementing differentiated instruction and culturally responsive teaching practices.
- Familiarity with Response to Intervention (RTI) and Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS).
- Experience integrating educational technology, including Google Workspace, Seesaw, I-Ready, and other digital platforms.
- Experience collaborating effectively with colleagues, administrators and families to support student achievement.
- Plan, prepare and deliver daily lessons aligned with district curriculum and Illinois Learning Standards.
- Implement instructional strategies that engage students and support diverse learning needs.
- Differentiate instruction for students with varying academic levels, learning styles and abilities, including those with IEPs, 504 Plans and English Learners.
- Use formative and summative assessments to evaluate student progress and guide instructional planning.
- Maintain a positive and structured classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Develop and maintain effective classroom management routines that promote student responsibility and respect.
- Collaborate with grade-level teams, interventionists and support staff to provide a cohesive learning experience for students.
- Integrate technology to enhance instruction and support digital literacy.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to share student progress, achievements and areas for growth.
- Participate in grade-level meetings, professional learning communities (PLCs) and school-wide professional development.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance and other required documentation.
- Support school and district initiatives that promote equity, inclusion and student success.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the principal or district administration.
- Strong knowledge of effective instructional practices in literacy, mathematics, science and social studies.
- Ability to engage students through creativity, enthusiasm and interactive learning.
