Physical Education Teacher
The Hazel Crest School District is seeking an individual to fill a full-time Physical Education teaching position. To be a successful teacher in Hazel Crest SD 152.5, you will create a flexible class environment favorable to learning and personal growth, establish effective rapport with students, and motivate students to develop skills, attitudes, and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation for elementary grade education according to each student's ability and establish good relationships with parents and with other staff members.
Each one of the elementary schools in Hazel Crest School District 152.5 has approximately 450 students. You would be working on a team with other PE teachers in the district who are ready to work with you and help you with providing fantastic learning experiences for our students! To be qualified for the position, you will need a Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Education and either have prior teaching experience in Physical Education in the last two years or have taken coursework, seminars, or workshops relevant to Physical Education.
Additionally, a valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with an Elementary Education (Self-Contained General Education) – Kindergarten through Grade 9 endorsement.
Performance responsibilities include creating a classroom environment conducive to learning, implementing classroom management systems, preparing for classes, implementing the District's philosophy of education, assessing student accomplishments, working with other school personnel, protecting students and facilities, maintaining accurate records, assisting administration, improving professional competence, attending staff meetings, demonstrating employee responsibilities, performing other duties as assigned, collaborating with supportive service personnel, and implementing the current curriculum provided by the school district.
Starting salary is $51K. The District offers excellent fringe benefits including life insurance, health and dental coverage, and an employee assistance program.
