Job Summary:
The primary function of the Quick Lube Technician is to provide excellent service experiences for our customers. Primary responsibilities will include performing oil changes, tire rotations, and other routine maintenance tasks safely, efficiently and accurately. This position will also conduct vehicle inspections to identify potential issues and ensure all services are completed to the highest standards. They must always perform quality services with the utmost honesty and integrity.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with Company and manufacturer standards.
- Sells lubrication, safety inspection and other related services. Maintains related records on regular customers, following up periodically with telephone, mail or personal reminders.
- Inspects vehicle fluid levels, replenishes as necessary.
- Checks tire pressure and adds air if needed.
- Communicates with parts department to obtain needed parts.
- Examines assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended.
- Reads and accurately completes Multipoint Inspection forms. Works closely as a team with constant communication.
- Speaks effectively with the customers in a polite and professional manner.
- Attends shop meetings as requested.
- Reports machinery defects or malfunctions to the supervisor.
- Ensures customers cars are kept clean. Notifies the service advisor immediately of anything that has happened to change the appearance or condition of the vehicle.
- Keeps shop area neat and clean. Uses shop supplies and materials in a practical and economical manner.
- Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state, and local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, etc.
- Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner. Reports any safety issues immediately to management.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to learn new technology, repair and service procedures and specifications.
- Must be self-motivated, have a positive attitude and work well with other team members.
- Must have a strong work ethic.
- Must be thorough and take pride in your work.
- A valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record must be maintained for occasional travel requirements and essential job functions.
