The City of Healdsburg is searching for a part‑time Parks and Facilities Aide to join the Community Services Department. The Parks and Facilities Aide position is responsible for providing general maintenance of park and recreation facilities, including weeding, ball field maintenance, restroom clean‑up, turf maintenance, emptying trash containers, and basic record‑keeping.

This role offers flexible hours, typically ranging from 15 to 20 hours per week, with variability based on seasonal demands. Hours are typically early morning to day shift, Monday through Thursday. Presence at public functions during the evening and on weekends may be required occasionally.

Parks and Facilities Aides earn a salary range of $17.24 – $21.64 per hour. This is a non‑benefited, part‑time position, up to 20 hours per week, no more than 1,000 hours per fiscal year.

For special events, incumbents must be willing to work off hours, weekends, evenings, and holidays. Work may require climbing ladders and carrying and lifting tools, equipment, and materials whose weight may exceed 50 pounds and working in an outdoor environment subject to heat and cold while exerting physical effort. Requests for accommodations will be assessed on a case‑by‑case basis.

Typical Qualifications
  • Knowledge of methods, materials and equipment used in janitorial and grounds maintenance work and safe work practices.
  • Ability to perform heavy manual labor; operate tools and equipment safely and effectively; perform simple grounds maintenance tasks; follow oral and written directions and work from simple sketches and diagrams; work independently in the absence of supervision; work cooperatively and courteously with the public.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid California driver's license during the course of employment.
Preferred Experience
  • High school graduation or equivalent.
  • One year of custodial and/or park maintenance experience preferred.

Parks and Facilities Aides working with youth

must be certified free from communicable tuberculosis according to California State Law and provide the City of Healdsburg proof of examination within the past two years. Proof of recertification is required on a four‑year cycle.
