Maintenance Assistant – Full-Time

We are looking for a dependable and hands-on Maintenance Assistant to join our team. In this full-time role, you’ll help maintain a safe, clean, comfortable, and well-functioning environment for our residents, staff, and visitors.

• Assist with repairs and maintenance throughout the facility, including resident rooms and common areas
• Perform painting and touch-up projects as needed
• Help maintain a safe environment while renovating or preparing resident rooms
• Follow established safety rules, department policies, and facility procedures
• Assist with maintaining the building, grounds, equipment, and systems in good working condition
• Perform routine maintenance tasks, including painting, minor carpentry, changing light bulbs, and basic repairs
• Identify and report potential safety hazards or maintenance concerns
• Assist with monthly inspections of the building, grounds, and facility equipment
• Help ensure the facility remains compliant with applicable safety, building, and maintenance requirements
• Assist with fire safety programs and fire drills
• Help coordinate outside repair, maintenance, and construction services when needed
• Perform exterior cleaning duties, including washing windows and screens
• Keep maintenance areas, work spaces, and storage rooms clean, organized, and safe
• Review daily work orders and assist with prioritizing maintenance requests
• Assist with preventive maintenance schedules and routine inspections
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation
• Respond to facility maintenance needs and emergencies as directed

• High school diploma or GED preferred, or equivalent related work experience
• Demonstrated painting and basic maintenance skills
• Basic knowledge of general building maintenance and repairs
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Professional, dependable, and team-oriented
• Ability to communicate effectively with residents, staff, leadership, and outside vendors
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks
• Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
• Ability to safely perform physical maintenance duties and assist with moving or handling equipment as needed
