Operator Receiving Trainee - Graveyard
LocationHermiston, OR
Job DescriptionThis position requires unloading trucks in a safe and timely manner, maintaining the receiving area clean and free from debris, operating flume systems to prevent plug-ups, and ensuring raw product flow into evenflow bins.
Key responsibilities include:
- Always maintain safe work practices and participate in safety programs.
- Guide trucks into unloading positions and operate forklift to transport samples to ODA grading area.
- Monitor evenflow levels, flume raw product into evenflows using the HMI program, and complete CL’s, CIL’s, and FSIL’s for your work area.
- Enter defects found in your area and accurately complete required forms.
- Unload trucks, take samples, operate receiving equipment, and accurately collect and label raw product samples.
- Perform daily sanitation duties, including shoveling, high‑pressure water hose use, and dumping of raw waste totes.
- Inspect raw product for foreign material, monitor waste pit water level, waste room hopper levels, and water usage in Receiving.
- Assist with other essential duties as assigned by the Team Leader.
- Actively participate in Company Safety and Good Manufacturing Practice Programs and maintain cleanliness of the silt room.
Education/
Certifications:
High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) preferred. Lock‑out/Tag‑out, Forklift, and Sanitation certifications are required. If unqualified, training will be provided and certification will be required.
Skills and Experience: Effective written and verbal communication in English; ability to understand and follow instructions in English; ability to perform basic math functions. Must be able to be qualified within time frames established by the facility.
Physical RequirementsAbility to lift up to 50 pounds and stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist, and turn frequently. Exposure to noisy environments and temperature extremes ranging from
-20°F to 90°F. Ability to perform repetitive arm, wrist, and hand movements, work overhead, and operate manual equipment. Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
