Title: Part‑Time Utility Grounds Attendant – Hershey's Chocolate World
Location: Hershey, PA
Hourly Pay Rate: $16.00 or more per hour based on experience.
Minimum Age: 18 years old.
Position Type: Part‑time, seasonal. Availability: weekdays and holidays, with some shifts requiring early starts at 5 AM.
Description: The Utility Grounds Attendant works within the Utility Department of Hershey's Chocolate World to maintain the general appearance and sanitation of the exterior of the facility. Duties include sweeping, trash removal, snow removal, cleaning windows, leaf blowing, pressure washing, and other assigned tasks. The role requires customer service focus and a courteous, approachable demeanor. The position is designed for a motivated, team‑oriented individual who can work with minimal supervision.
Training will be provided with emphasis on safety guidelines.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Demonstrate Hershey's Customer Service Pledge and prioritize guests.
- Initiate contact with guests by greeting them politely and smiling.
- Listen to guest needs and provide assistance.
- Provide a genuine Thank You to every guest.
- Ensure facility sanitation meets Hershey's Chocolate World standards.
- Perform general cleaning tasks: sweeping, trash removal, snow removal, windows, leaf blowing, pressure washing, etc.
- Maintain cleanliness and appearance of public walkways, grounds, parking lots.
- Observe and report sanitation problems both inside and outside the building.
- Operate company vehicle (authorized motor driver).
- Follow all cleaning and sanitizing procedures.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Must maintain a neat appearance and meet uniform standards.
- Customer service skills.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with problem‑solving skills.
- General retail knowledge is a plus.
- Must be able to walk or stand for 5‑8 hours.
- Must be able to push/pull/lift/carry 25‑50 lbs.
- Must be able to push or pull 100‑200 lbs.
- Requires bending, stooping, and twisting.
- Continuous repetitive motion of hands, fingers, and wrists.
- Must be able to work independently and at a fast pace.
- Must communicate effectively with guests and coworkers and function effectively as part of a team.
- Must be able to work outdoors in all types of weather, including extreme heat, rain, wind, snow, etc.
- Must read, write, and speak English proficiently.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent (preferred but not required).
- Custodial experience preferred but not required.
