Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Maintenance Manager to join our team at Westlake Nursing and Rehab Center in Dania Beach, Florida. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing daily maintenance operations, ensuring the facility is safe, clean, and functional, and supporting a comfortable and secure environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate all maintenance activities, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general repairs.
- Ensure the facility is maintained in a safe, clean, and operational condition at all times.
- Conduct routine inspections of building systems, patient areas, and common spaces.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency repairs.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., life safety codes, health department standards, OSHA requirements).
- Implement and oversee preventive maintenance programs.
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs, safety records, and compliance documentation.
- Supervise, train, and evaluate maintenance staff.
- Assign daily tasks and monitor work performance.
- Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and teamwork.
- Oversee operation and maintenance of critical systems (boilers, generators, medical gas systems if applicable, fire alarm systems).
- Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for specialized repairs and services.
- Ensure proper functioning of backup systems, including emergency power.
- Assist in developing and managing the maintenance budget.
- Monitor expenses and control costs without compromising safety or quality.
- Maintain inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies.
- Order parts and materials as needed.
- Oversee upkeep of exterior grounds, parking areas, and landscaping.
- Coordinate with housekeeping/environmental services to ensure overall facility cleanliness and safety.
- High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or associate degree preferred.
- 2-3+ years of maintenance experience, preferably in healthcare or skilled nursing facility.

- Prior supervisory or leadership experience required.
- Strong knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing).
- Familiarity with healthcare regulations and life safety codes.
- Ability to read blueprints, manuals, and technical documents.
- Excellent problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong leadership and communication abilities.
- Basic computer skills for recordkeeping and work order systems.
- May require on‑call availability for emergencies.
- Exposure to mechanical equipment, noise, and varying temperatures.
- Physical demands include lifting, climbing, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to climb ladders and work in confined spaces.
- Manual dexterity for handling tools and equipment.
