Description SUMMARY

The Maintenance Worker provides a variety of services such as mechanical repair, general maintenance, and overall handyman for the buildings, equipment and property.

This position is part-time and will average about 24 hours per week. This position's schedule is typically midshift (9a/10a-5p/6p Thursday, Friday and Saturday but does require some flexibility to cover vacation, etc).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The following duties and functions, as outlined herein, are intended to be representative of the type of tasks performed within this classification. They are not listed in any order of importance. Maintenance & Repairs
  • Perform routine and corrective maintenance on buildings, equipment, and grounds
  • Complete work orders including minor electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and HVAC-related tasks
  • Troubleshoot and report mechanical issues that require escalation or vendor support
Preventative Maintenance
  • Assist in developing and executing preventative maintenance schedules
  • Conduct regular inspections of facilities, equipment, and safety systems
  • Identify and address potential maintenance issues before they become urgent
Projects & Facility Upkeep
  • Support facility improvement projects such as painting, recarpeting, cabinetry, and general upgrades
  • Assist with furniture and equipment setup/breakdown for events or operational needs
  • Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas
  • Identify maintenance needs requiring external vendors
  • Support coordination, scheduling, and oversight of vendor work as needed
Safety & Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, ADA, and applicable safety standards
  • Identify, report, and address safety hazards in a timely manner
  • Maintain proper use and storage of tools, equipment, and materials
Resident‑Focused Support
  • Interact respectfully and professionally with residents, staff and families
  • Support a safe and positive residential environment
  • Assist with basic maintenance guidance for staff when appropriate
Additional Responsibilities
  • Maintain inventory of tools, supplies and equipment
  • Respond to urgent maintenance needs during scheduled hours
  • Perform other duties as assigned

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or equivalent. Relevant experience in a similar position preferred.

OTHER

SKILLS and ABILITIES
  • Must have working knowledge of all building systems, HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, etc.
  • Individual should have the knowledge and skills to diagnose trouble issues, make minor repairs and be able to work with outside vendors to get repairs done to the building systems.
  • Knowledge of the proper use and disposal of hazardous materials, safe handling techniques, and use of proper safety equipment as outlined by OSHA.
