Responsibilities
  • Loads and unloads dirt, lumber, asphalt and reinforcing steel.
  • Mows, rakes and loads grass; assists in the watering of grass, shrubbery and trees.
  • Prepares ground and sets forms for concrete work; mixes, pours and levels concrete; breaks pavement and saws concrete; repairs asphalt roadways.
  • Excavates and backfills ditches; operates compaction tampers to level ground.
  • Sweeps and polishes floor; vacuums carpeting; moves and cleans furniture; cleans restrooms, collects and disposes of trash.
  • Assembles field sports equipment; lines playing areas.
  • Performs minor repairs to equipment and buildings.
  • Assist skilled personnel in the fulfillment of their assignments.
  • Must effectively and positively represent the City in delivering and performing work with colleagues and clients, irrespective of gender, race, religion, age, disability, political affiliation or belief, or sexual orientation.
  • Must establish and maintain effective and professional relationships with work colleagues, supervisors and managers.
  • Performs related work as required for this position description only.

REQUIRED: High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

PREFERRED: One (1) year experience in the field.

Additional education and experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience may be substituted for the above requirements.

This position will work varied hours, which may include nights and weekends.
