Job Type and Compensation

Pay is commensurate with experience. This is an hourly, full‑time position.

Qualifications
  • Must have an active Class B or higher Wastewater Operator License issued by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • 1+ year(s) of experience.
Responsibilities
  • Operate plant equipment such as aerators, filters, pumps, lift stations, instrumentation, motors, chemical feed systems, blowers, mixers, generators, lighting, chlorinators, comminutors, bar screens, flow splitter boxes, storage tanks, meters, air compressors, air distribution systems, timers, controls, sludge dewatering equipment, valves, contact chambers, wells, surge tanks and other related plant components and equipment.
  • Adjust plant equipment to achieve best possible treatment results and maintain compliance with the plant operating permit.
  • Respond to emergency calls, as required, to take corrective operation action or assist personnel in performing corrective actions.
  • Operate facility effluent disposal systems in accordance with the plant operating permit and operating protocol.
  • Maintain required solids inventory to achieve best possible treatment; control wasting rates, digester loading, lime stabilization of residuals (when applicable) and coordinate residual hauling.
  • Provide oral and written reports to the Project Manager.
  • Maintain sludge records and reports.
  • Adjust and maintain chemical dosages to ensure compliance with the facility operating permit and Oklahoma Administrative Code.
  • Perform daily checks of the wastewater facilities to document operational status and maintenance requirements and make operational changes to ensure processes are operated safely and compliantly with ODEQ rules.
  • Perform compliance sampling for required parameters for wastewater quality analysis per facility operating permit.
  • Maintain on‑site complete and accurate operating logbook and records on wastewater facility per DEQ requirements.
  • Perform field testing (e.g., dissolved oxygen, pH, settable solids, microscopic examination of activated sludge, alkalinity, ammonia, turbidity) to control plant processes and maintain compliance.
  • Perform calibration procedures on all field‑testing equipment as required by DEQ and maintain calibration log.
  • Calculate, maintain and record plant hydraulic and organic loading rates.
  • Repair and maintain plant equipment, perform routine instrumentation cleaning and maintenance; replace air filters.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties.
  • Complete monthly reports and laboratory analyses prior to submission to regulatory agencies.
  • Report abnormal events and unsafe conditions per protocols.
  • Assist Project Manager with operator scheduling and staffing.
  • Ensure staff operators adhere to company policies; report failures.
  • Be available for scheduled or unscheduled overtime as required.
  • Perform other similar duties as assigned.
