Job Overview

Fairview Range is hiring a Custodian for the Housekeeping department in Hibbing, MN. As a custodian, you will perform a variety of support service functions as well as project‑type work and cleaning to keep the physical facility orderly, aesthetically attractive, clean and sanitary.

Schedule: Full time, 72–80 hours per pay period on the day shift. Weekends:
Every other weekend.

• Maintains hard surface floors, project cleans, and maintains hard surface and carpeted floors
• Uses good technique to clean and refinish hard surface floors and extract carpeted floors
• Applies appropriate seal and finish to floors
• Properly uses caution signs and controls traffic while doing projects
• Effectively coordinates project cleaning so as not to disrupt workflow of departments and customers; communicates with departments and plans the workflow
• Moves furniture and puts back in correct locations
• Provides a superior level of cleaning quality in an assigned area to maintain a clean working environment consistent with department procedures and protocols
• Uses proper chemicals and dilution ratios, and proper supplies for task and replenishes supplies
• Demonstrates knowledge and application of infection control standards, isolation room cleaning, personal protective equipment and appropriate hand hygiene techniques
• Follows proper procedures for assigned areas and properly documents work assignments
• Properly handles and disposes of regulated, non‑regulated and recyclable waste
• Works independently and remains flexible to change in assignments and tasks as needed; able to switch or take on duties including filling in Environmental Service Assistant duties
• Demonstrates knowledge of linen, assembles distributes adequate amounts of linen to locations and follows delivery procedures including accurately weighing and documenting weights to appropriate departments, adjusting par levels as needed and removes stained and damaged linen needing repair from inventory
• Demonstrates knowledge and procedures and complies with all relevant laws, regulations, policies, and procedures
• Demonstrates successful completion of cleaning standards by evidence of quality inspections

• Must be 18 years of age or older

• High School Diploma or GED
• Six months verifiable experience in working with refinishing of hard surface flooring and carpet cleaning methods

The posted compensation range corresponds to the minimum and maximum pay rates outlined in your union agreement for the respective job classifications at the time of job posting. An individual's pay rate within this range may be influenced by various factors, including FTE, skills, knowledge, educational background, and qualifying experience as specified in the contract. If your role is eligible for a sign‑on bonus, the bonus program that is approved and in place at the time of offer is what will be honored.
