Job Summary:We are seeking a dependable, motivated, and hands-on Maintenance Assistant to join our team. As a Maintenance Assistant, you will work closely with the Maintenance Director to assist with the day-to-day upkeep, repair, and preventative maintenance of the facility, grounds, and equipment.
Responsibilities:- Assist with routine maintenance and repairs involving plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and mechanical systems
- Perform basic carpentry, painting, patching, and general building repairs
- Complete maintenance work orders in a timely and efficient manner
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance throughout the facility
- Conduct regular inspections of the building and grounds to identify maintenance and safety concerns
- Assist with repairs and upkeep of resident rooms and common areas
- Help maintain the safety and overall appearance of the facility and exterior grounds
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and urgent repair needs
- Assist with room setups for meetings, activities, and facility events as needed
- Follow all safety procedures, infection control guidelines, and facility policies
- Assist with lawn care and seasonal maintenance tasks as needed
- Help ensure equipment and building systems remain operational and properly maintained
- Perform additional maintenance-related duties as assigned
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous maintenance experience preferred
- Experience in a skilled nursing, long-term care, assisted living, healthcare, or residential setting is a plus
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, mechanical systems, and general building maintenance
- Ability to safely operate hand and power tools
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize maintenance needs
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and perform the physical requirements of the position
- Dependable attendance and a positive, team-oriented attitude are required
