Job Overview

Amentum is seeking an Industrial Janitor in Vance, AL to provide the cleaning and upkeep of an assigned area for an industrial facility. This is a full‑time position.

Shift Options:

• 1st Shift: Monday–Friday, 6:00AM – 2:30PM (shifts may vary based on business demand)
• 2nd Shift: Monday–Friday, 2:30PM – 11:00PM (shifts may vary based on business demand)

Hourly Rate: $16–$19 per hour.

• Cleans and maintains buildings and facilities.
• Performs heavy cleaning duties such as cleaning floors, shampooing rugs, washing walls and glass, and removing trash.
• Notifies managers of minor or major repairs or additions to building operating systems.
• Establishes and maintains effective communication and working relationships with clients, co‑workers, shift coordinators, supervisors, managers, etc.
• Complies with all safety, security, compliance, and quality standards and procedures established by the Company, Clients, and regulatory authorities.
• Is flexible and willing to complete all tasks assigned.
• Sweeps, mops, scrubs, or vacuums building floors.
• Follows procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
• Utilizes ladders; dusts and washes furniture, walls, blinds, select equipment; cleans ceilings and dusts light fixtures and ceiling vents.
• Removes stains from surfaces such as carpet, drapes/shades, walls, and floors using chemicals and cleaning solutions.
• Prepares cleaning solutions per specifications.
• Strips, seals, finishes, and polishes floors.
• Clears and vacuums carpeted areas, including spot cleaning treatment.
• Gathers trash and empties in appropriate trash and recycling bins.
• Wipes and cleans tabletops, chairs, refrigerators, microwaves, etc.
• Polishes furniture and fixtures.
• Serves, cleans, and supplies restrooms.
• Cleans interior partition glass, windows, glass partitions, and mirrors.
• Maintains janitor’s closet neat and orderly and keeps equipment in good working order.
• Monitors building security and safety by locking doors after operating hours and checking electrical appliances to prevent hazards.
• Drives vehicles (if required) to other facilities such as vans, industrial trucks, golf carts, or industrial vacuum cleaners.
• Provides special cleaning and support during client events as needed.
• Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned.

• 1 year of relevant experience in industrial or commercial cleaning.
• Ability to obtain and maintain facility/security credentials/authorization.
• US citizenship or permanent residency required for facility credentials/authorization at this work location.
• No sponsorship for U.S. work authorization.
• May require a valid driver’s license issued by the Department of Motor Vehicles.
• Physical/Special requirements: repetitive motions (bend, stoop, squat, kneel, stretch, reach, wrist movement); walk extensively throughout the plant; regularly lift up to 30lbs; work at an accelerated pace in emergency conditions; differentiate colors for color‑coded cleaning microfiber clothes and mops; wear steel‑toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats, and other PPE as needed; cope with job‑related stresses.

• Bilingual (English and Spanish).

Hourly pay range: $16.00 – $19.00 per hour. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as job responsibilities, education, experience, skills, internal equity, market data, applicable collective bargaining agreements, and relevant laws.
