Job Summary
Forsyth County Parks and Recreation Department is seeking a part‑time Maintenance Tech I responsible for routine maintenance of restrooms, parking lots, and related grounds. The role includes cleaning, sweeping, mopping, weed control, litter pickup, trash removal, sanitizing restrooms, and operating equipment such as tractors, blowers, and handheld power tools.
Work Schedule- March – November:
Sunday–Wednesday 6:30 am – 2:30 pm - November – February:
Sunday–Wednesday 5 hours per day
Vacation and sick leave, paid holidays, retirement, and 401k contribution.
We are currently recruiting for this position, but a selected candidate will start after July 1 2026.
QualificationsSuccessful candidates should have the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships with other employees.
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
- Ability to deal tactfully and courteously with the public.
- Ability to independently adhere to a time schedule.
- Ability to maintain order and ensure compliance with rules.
- Ability to operate and care for power equipment and hand tools.
- Ability to inspect and report needs for repairs.
- Ability to regularly lift 50 pounds.
Graduation from high school or GED and one year experience in basic building or grounds maintenance.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered for the minimum requirements.
A valid driver's license is required.
