Essential Functions and Responsibilities- Clean and maintain interior and exterior premises of campus, including, but not limited to:
- Sweep, scrub, mop, wax, and polish floors using appropriate equipment.
- Clean rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies using appropriate equipment.
- Dust furniture and equipment.
- Sanitize restrooms including all fixtures, tile surfaces, partitions, and doorknobs.
- Polish metalwork such as fixtures and fittings.
- Wash walls, woodwork, windows, and sills.
- Empty wastebaskets and transport trash to disposal area.
- Replenish bathroom, facility, and cleaning supplies throughout campus.
- Provide supply inventory to supervisor to assist with reorders.
- Break down and set up rooms and event space as needed.
- Perform floor care custodial cleaning as needed.
- Remove snow and debris from campus as needed.
- Report needed maintenance and repairs to supervisor.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent
General cleaning knowledge; ability to understand written directions and follow instructions on Material Safety Data Sheets for chemical use.
Physical Demands- Must be able to perform cleaning and maintenance related duties for at least 9 hours per day.
- Ability to work continuously at times on uneven surfaces.
- Must be able to tolerate weather conditions such as extreme heat and cold.
- Must be able to work in tight, confined spaces, and/or working at heights, on a ladder, on a raised platform, outside or near a window.
- Must be able to climb ladders, stairs, and lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs.
- In addition to regular hours, this position may require overtime, evening and weekend work hours, and on-call hours in case of an emergency or in the regular course of college business.
Must be licensed driver in NC with safe driving history.
Working Conditions and EnvironmentWork is performed in all types of weather conditions, around hazardous chemicals, standing/walking for majority of assigned shift. Ability to stand and walk on campus for a 9-hour shift. Assignments are campus-wide and moves between locations. Some locations may not have heating or air conditioning.
