Position OverviewWe are seeking a Maintenance Mechanic for one of our two depots in Metro Detroit.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Installs, maintains, repairs, and troubleshoots conveyor systems, electrical systems, heavy machinery, and specialized equipment.
- Performs Level 1 troubleshooting on powered industrial truck equipment; coordinates with the on‑site PIT mechanic when Level 2 troubleshooting is required.
- Performs routine preventive maintenance on conveyor systems, air compressor systems, and PIT EV batteries.
- Operates machines and other equipment to observe operations, diagnose malfunctions, or make repairs.
- Unjams product on conveyor lines from high elevation; employee must be comfortable working at heights of up to 30 feet (approximately 20% of work).
- Documents work performed in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Supports production by handling oddball tasks required to meet production goals.
This is a full‑time position on the night shift beginning at 6:00 PM. The employee may be asked to work beyond the standard 8‑hour schedule per shift.
Work Environment & Physical DemandsThe position operates in a warehouse environment and is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibrations, where noise levels can be loud. The role requires physically demanding work, including lifting equipment and parts weighing up to 55 pounds and pushing or pulling forces up to 100 pounds. Operation of warehouse equipment and regular reading, writing, and communication in English are mandatory.
Pay & Benefits- Starting pay: $25.00 – $27.00 per hour.

- Age 18 years or older.
- High school diploma or GED (bachelor's degree preferred).
- At least 2 years of experience repairing and troubleshooting conveyor systems.
- At least 2 years of experience repairing and troubleshooting electrical systems.
- At least 2 years of experience repairing and troubleshooting heavy machinery and specialized equipment.
- Adhere to the policies and procedures outlined in the employee policy manual and any applicable contracts, agreements, and work rules.
- Cooperate with all management and staff of Great Lakes Wine & Spirits.
- Follow all Michigan Liquor Control Commission rules and regulations as they apply to the position.
- Use alcohol responsibly in activities related to business operations.
