Position Summary
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing daily maintenance operations across the Company, ensuring that all facilities, equipment, HVAC, refrigeration, and related systems are maintained in safe, efficient working order. This position supervises maintenance technicians, coordinates work assignments, and ensures timely completion of repairs, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and special projects. The Maintenance Manager partners with store leadership, facilities management, outside vendors, and contractors to address equipment issues, building maintenance, HVAC and refrigeration needs, and regulatory compliance.
This role supports uninterrupted store operations by minimizing downtime, protecting perishable inventory, promoting preventive maintenance, and ensuring safe, compliant, and cost‑effective operations.
Key Accountabilities
Supervise, schedule, and coordinate maintenance, HVAC, and refrigeration technicians, providing training, guidance, and support to ensure high performance.Assign, schedule, and oversee work orders for repairs, preventive maintenance, emergency calls, and special projects across stores and facilities.Oversee the installation, inspection, troubleshooting, repair, and replacement of building systems, HVAC units, refrigeration systems, walk‑in coolers/freezers, and related equipment.Ensure all maintenance activities meet safety, sanitation, OSHA, EPA, refrigerant handling, environmental, and company compliance standards.Monitor maintenance requests from store leadership, prioritize tasks, and ensure timely resolution to minimize equipment downtime and product loss.Perform regular inspections of facilities, equipment, HVAC, refrigeration, and building systems to identify and address issues proactively.Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance schedules, service logs, regulatory documentation, and parts inventory.Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and suppliers for specialized repairs, installations, parts procurement, warranty claims, service contracts, and outsourced repairs.Collaborate with store operations and facilities teams to plan and schedule equipment shutdowns, upgrades, remodels, and repairs with minimal disruption.Monitor system performance and recommend energy efficiency improvements to reduce operating costs.Support capital improvement projects, remodels, and new store openings with maintenance, HVAC, and refrigeration expertise.Assist with budget planning and cost control for maintenance operations, including parts, labor, service metrics, and vendor expenses.Train, mentor, evaluate, and develop technicians, ensuring adherence to company policies, safety standards, and industry best practices.Provide coaching, performance feedback, and corrective action as needed for maintenance team members.Promote a culture of preventive maintenance to minimize downtime, reduce repair costs, and support overall store operations.Prepare reports on equipment performance, service metrics, maintenance activity, and budget‑related items as needed.Perform hands‑on technical work when needed to resolve critical maintenance, HVAC, refrigeration, or facility‑related issues.Respond to emergency maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner, including evenings, weekends, or after‑hours calls as needed.Perform other duties as assigned to support the facilities, maintenance, and operations teams.Core Leadership Competencies
