Division: Technology and Infrastructure

Assists with the maintenance, repair, and daily operations of college facilities and grounds. Performs landscaping, preventive maintenance, equipment maintenance, and general building maintenance while developing skills in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical systems, and facilities operations. This position provides an opportunity to develop a broad range of technical and facilities-related skills and advance within the College’s Facilities Services department.

Landscaping Excellence: Performs weekly lawn care, including mowing, edging, and trimming. Maintains garden beds through weeding, mulching, and planting flowers and shrubs.

Seasonal Responsibilities: Assists with spring and fall cleanup, snow removal, and salting. Ensures drainage areas are free of debris.

Site Upkeep: Ensures all common areas, parking lots, and walkways are free of debris and hazards.

Performs light painting, including touch‑ups to scuffed surfaces, trim, fences, and curbs.

Ensures all surfaces meet professional standards through proper preparation, including sanding and cleaning.

Inspects property through routine walkthroughs to identify and report repairs needed to walkways or exterior structures.

Performs routine HVAC care, including AC filter changes across the property on a scheduled basis.

Maintains and services college vehicles and equipment, ensuring proper and safe working order. Performs preventive maintenance and makes necessary repairs, including, but not limited to, cleaning, greasing, and checking oil and fluid levels on mowers and other power tools.

Serves as an integral member of the Facilities Services team that actively promotes a collaborative and customer service‑oriented mindset while supporting facilities, maintenance systems, and users across the College.

Routinely functions in a fast‑paced environment with competing and changing priorities. Assesses needs and evaluates departmental requests, with the ability to prioritize and complete tasks. Is detail‑oriented and promotes an adaptable and flexible attitude. Builds commitment and effectively supports constructive change.

Monitors and performs preventive maintenance tasks. Completes general repairs to buildings, moves office equipment, replaces light bulbs, hangs items as requested, and performs other general maintenance duties.

Assists with unlocking and locking assigned buildings and ensures the general security of assigned campus assets.

Assists with preparation and cleanup for activities and special events as assigned. Sets up and dismantles chairs and tables and performs other maintenance duties.

Monitors the facilities ticket request system, including responding to requests and communicating with requestors regarding progress. Corrects or reports any building deficiencies that may compromise the safety and security of the facility.

Works within established policies and procedures and chooses among processes and work methods most suitable to the situation. Refers difficult or unusual situations and problems to the Facilities Manager.

Communicates with the Facilities Manager daily regarding project status, as needed. Assists with requirements and scope development for projects and information gathering.
