Job SummaryOur Housekeeping Team maintains a spotless home for residents and learns their life stories while cleaning.
EligibilityEducation:
High school diploma or GED (preferred)
Experience:
One year in a health care facility (preferred)
- Ability to read, write, and speak English
- Follow instructions and deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, and visitors
- Proper use of supplies; maintain appearance of housekeeping areas in a safe, clean, and comfortable manner
- Work harmoniously with personnel and seek new methods to improve housekeeping practices
- Follow written and oral instructions concerning cleaning compound mixtures
- Perform daily housekeeping tasks according to assignments and procedures
- Maintain work areas clean, safe, comfortable, and attractive
- Follow infection control and safety practices when using equipment, supplies, and cleaning solutions
- Clean and polish furnishings, fixtures, ledges, heating/cooling units, and other equipment
- Sanitize bathroom fixtures and surface areas
- Vacuum, wash, shampoo, deodorize, and disinfect carpets
- Clean windows, mirrors, and ceilings with surfaces such as walls
- Sweep, mop, strip, wax, buff, and disinfect floors
- Remove dirt, dust, grease, film from surfaces using proper solutions
- Clean hallways, stairways, elevators, floor areas, and associated furnishings
- Discard waste properly and reliner trash receptacles
- Report hazardous conditions, equipment issues, and accidents to supervisor
- Maintain inventory of housekeeping supplies and report deficiencies
- Respect residents’ personal property, maintain confidentiality of resident‑care information, and abandon found articles to supervisor
- Assist in lifting heavy equipment and supplies as directed
- Attend departmental and staff meetings
- Follow fire‑safety policies and procedures and hygiene schedules
