Position Summary
Local company is seeking an experienced Accounting Specialist to join our team and play a key role in our accounting operations and ERP system migration. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience with Sage 50
, ERP implementations or migrations, and accounting in a light manufacturing environment. This position can be FT/PT/1099. Salary commensurate with experience.
This position is ideal for a detail‑oriented accounting professional who enjoys process improvement, system optimization, and working collaboratively across departments.
Key Responsibilities- Perform day‑to‑day accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, bank reconciliations, and month‑end close.
- Support the migration from Sage 50 to a new ERP system, including data validation, testing, and reconciliation.
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data throughout the migration process.
- Assist in maintaining inventory costing, manufacturing transactions, and production‑related accounting.
- Prepare financial reports and assist with budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Collaborate with internal teams to improve accounting processes and system efficiencies.
- Maintain compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
- Assist with audit preparation and provide supporting documentation as needed.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- 3+ years of accounting experience.
- Hands‑on experience with Sage 50 required.
- Experience participating in an ERP implementation or migration is strongly preferred.
- Experience in a light manufacturing environment, including inventory and cost accounting.
- Strong understanding of general accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving abilities.
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
