JOB DESCRIPTION

POSITION TITLE: Librarian

REPORTS TO: Department Chair, Building Principal

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Valid Illinois PEL with Library Information Specialist Endorsement
  • Secondary Teaching Endorsement
  • English Language Arts Endorsement
  • Master's Degree (desired)
  • Previous high school teaching experience (desired)
  • Able to use Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
  • Experience working as a Librarian (desired)
  • Experience tutoring students in a one‑on‑one small group setting (desired)
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Instructional Method

  • Teach to prescribed outcomes and goals
  • Use instructional methods that improve student achievement
  • Assign and evaluate appropriate student work
  • Involve students in learning
  • Make effective use of entire class period
  • Use appropriate school support and resource materials
  • Convey to students learning goals and the importance of material learned
  • Be clear in explanations and directions
  • Provide continuity in learning activities
