Family and Consumer Sciences Teacher

Full-time high school teaching position. Minimum required qualifications include a Bachelor's Degree or meeting minimum requirements to be eligible for an Educator License with Stipulations (ESL) Endorsement. A valid Illinois Professional Educators License (PEL) or Educator License with Stipulations (ELS) for grades 9-12 with an Endorsement in Family and Consumer Science (Grades 9-12) is required. Desired qualifications include a Master's Degree and/or Doctorate Degree, previous high school teaching experience, certified ESL, High School or Bilingual Certification, and bilingual endorsements.

Essential duties and responsibilities include instructional competencies such as teaching to prescribed outcomes, utilizing best practices of standards-based learning, and ensuring student understanding of learning goals. Classroom management competencies involve developing and enforcing classroom rules, monitoring and correcting student behavior, and ensuring appropriate use and care of classroom materials. Professionally related competencies include ongoing collaboration with colleagues, participation in review and updating of curricular programs, and adherence to Board of Education policies and administrative procedures.
