CNC Lathe Machinist

We are seeking a skilled CNC Lathe Machinist to join our high-mix, quick-changeover machining team in Hillside, IL. This role is ideal for a hands‑on machinist who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and has strong experience in performing machine setups, changeovers, and on‑the‑floor programming. You will play a key role in producing precision components while maintaining efficiency and minimizing downtime.

• Complete setups and changeovers on CNC lathes for short‑run and high‑mix production.
• Program and edit CNC lathe programs directly at the machine using G‑code programming.
• Load tooling, fixtures, and raw materials to meet job specifications.
• Interpret blueprints, job routers, and technical drawings to ensure accurate production.
• Conduct first‑piece inspections and in‑process checks using precision measuring instruments.
• Make necessary offsets and adjustments to maintain tight tolerances.
• Troubleshoot machining and program issues to minimize downtime.
• Maintain production efficiency in a quick‑changeover environment.
• Follow all safety and quality procedures and maintain a clean work area.

• 3+ years of CNC lathe machining experience in a production environment.
• Ability to perform setups and changeovers independently.
• Experience programming CNC lathes at the machine.
• Strong blueprint reading and GD&T understanding.
• Proficiency with measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, high‑mix/low‑volume environment.

• Proficiency in using Fanuc and Haas machines.
• Experience with Mastercam software.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hillside, IL.

The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $30.00/hr.
