Job Description

Hilo Benioff Medical Center is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Environmental Services Worker II to join our Floor Care team. In this essential role, you will help maintain a safe, clean, and sanitary environment for patients, staff, and visitors by ensuring all floor surfaces across the facility are properly cared for.
Your work plays a critical role in infection prevention and overall patient safety within our community hospital.
- Perform routine and deep cleaning of floor surfaces, including sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, stripping, waxing, and buffing using industrial cleaning equipment
- Maintain and restore the appearance and safety of various flooring types such as tile, vinyl, and linoleum
- Follow proper chemical handling procedures and adhere to all infection control and safety standards
- Inspect floors regularly to identify maintenance needs and complete corrective cleaning as required
- Maintain, clean, and properly store all equipment and supplies after use
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members, and assist with training new staff as needed
- Education:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred - Experience:
No experience required; prior floor care or janitorial experience preferred

* Rates listed for paid holidays, vacation and sick days are for 1.0 Full Time Equivalent (FTE) positions assigned to 8 hour shifts. Accruals for these benefits are otherwise prorated based on FTE.
Pre-Employment Health RequirementsOffers of employment will be contingent on successfully passing a pre-employment examination, which includes a drug screen and other regulatory medical requirements such as, but not limited to, a tuberculosis (TB) screen. The cost for drug screening and blood draw for QuantiFERON and Titers, shall be borne by the Hawaii Health Systems Corporation.
