Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Job Overview
The Mechanic I is responsible for basic repairs, calibration, and maintenance on equipment. This position will lead the team in the equipment diagnosis and repairs, directing and assisting Assemblers to further their knowledge and understanding of troubleshooting and equipment maintenance.
Responsibilities- Completion of activity-based repairs and service requirements as delineated on sales change orders.
- Install various equipment accessories (decals, mud flaps, cameras, lights).
- Follow verbal and written work instructions.
- Maintain attention to detail necessary to adhere to quality standards.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Apply basic knowledge of DC electricity and hydraulics and basic print understanding.
- Apply basic computer skills and use an iPad or laptop to input findings guided by user-friendly programs.
- Use tools such as multimeter, pressure tester, and analyzer.
- Learn to drive and use a forklift.
- Lift the safe and permissible weight.
- Withstand standing all day and walking long distances.
- Stoop and work at low positions.
- Aid in maintaining inventory accuracy through data entry.
- Work overtime and/or 7 days a week as required.
- Maintain regular attendance.
- 1 year of basic experience with hydraulics, electrical, gas and diesel systems.
- Strong math skills and basic mechanical aptitude.
- Ability and willingness to work overtime as needed, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Maintain regular and reliable attendance, in-person and on-site.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Good organizational and communication skills and multi-tasking capabilities.
- Good analytical skills and ability to troubleshoot.
- Positive and teamwork attitude.
- Willing to always evaluate options to make things better and safer.
- Continuous improvement mentality and always willing to learn.
The following represents general working conditions for this role. Specific conditions may vary depending on business needs and individual circumstances.
- This position is based in a manufacturing or production environment and may involve exposure to loud noise, dust, moving machinery, or temperature fluctuations.
- The role may require standing for extended periods, repetitive motions, lifting/carrying up to 35 pounds, pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds, and up to 30 pounds sustained, bending, kneeling, climbing, or using tools and equipment.
- Proper personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn when required.
- Visual and auditory acuity are needed for safe equipment operation and effective communication in a busy workspace.
