Through the delivery of operations and maintenance services, we make it simpler and more seamless for our municipal clients to operate safely and efficiently, empowering communities to focus on what matters most - people. As an Operator, you'll join a collaborative team ensuring uninterrupted service delivery. You'll perform a variety of tasks in the operation and maintenance of a wastewater treatment plant, contributing to the program's success through efficient preventive maintenance, effective sampling procedures, and solutions to complex challenges.
Pay: $22.79- $29.62 per hour DOE
Responsibilities- Diagnose operating problems, make process control adjustments, and direct/perform necessary corrective action
- Establish and maintain effective sample procedures for plant operations and effluent
- Prepare reports, collect samples, and perform laboratory testing
- Determine proper chemical flow rates
- Maintain shift logs and perform other duties as required
- Take action to ensure the safety, health, and well-being of yourself and your team
- NJDEP S1 Wastewater License
- Experience operating a wastewater treatment facility
- Experience with sound safety principles and practices
- Experience with computer operations, including spreadsheets, word processing, and entering information into a maintenance management system
- Valid driver's license
- Must pass Fitness for Duty testing to ensure physical and functional fitness for this safety-sensitive position
- Ability to perform physical tasks including standing, walking, sitting, stooping, kneeling, squatting, grasping, reaching, and repetitive hand movements
- Ability to work in varied environments (indoor/outdoor, loud noise, active machinery, high-pressure fluid systems, electrical equipment, confined spaces, heights/depths, fumes, airborne particles, noxious gases, and chemicals), using appropriate safety equipment
- Knowledge of the principles, methods, and tools used in the operation of engines, pumps, valves, motors, and related equipment
- Knowledge of general maintenance work and safe work practices
- Knowledge of biological and chemical sewage analysis, and the effects of industrial waste on water/wastewater treatment processes
- Principles of supervision
- Knowledge of computer software including Microsoft Office Suite and data management systems; ability to operate plant PLCs and SCADA systems
- Interviewing for either 2nd shift (2:00 PM-10:30 PM) or 3rd shift (10:00 PM-6:30 AM)
- During training:
Monday-Friday schedule; after training, days off TBD
