Vice President of Accounting

A large, complex, services-driven organization with a global operating footprint is seeking a Vice President of Accounting Operations to lead enterprise-wide accounting execution. This role sits at the intersection of technical accounting, operational finance, and scalable process design, with responsibility for translating complex accounting conclusions into consistent, repeatable execution across the business.

This is a senior leadership role for someone who thrives in dynamic environments, understands how accounting decisions play out in real operations, and can drive discipline without slowing the business down.

The VP of Accounting Operations is responsible for ensuring accurate, timely, and consistent accounting execution across domestic and international entities. Partnering closely with executive accounting leadership, this role focuses on operationalizing technical guidance, strengthening front-end discipline, and reducing execution risk in complex accounting areas.

Key focus areas include revenue execution, contract and booking discipline, global lease accounting, and the overall health and scalability of accounting processes.

• Own day-to-day accounting execution across multiple regions and legal entities
• Apply senior-level judgment to complex accounting matters, including estimates, reserves, non-routine transactions, and judgment-heavy close areas
• Act as an escalation point for execution challenges and accounting risk

• Lead operational revenue accounting processes to ensure compliance and consistency at the transaction level
• Strengthen contract intake, review, and handoff processes to ensure accounting accuracy at the source
• Oversee execution of long-term and project-based revenue recognition methodologies
• Improve processes around contract modifications, change orders, and estimate updates

• Provide leadership and oversight to international accounting teams to ensure consistent standards and execution
• Drive alignment across regions on process design, documentation, and controls
• Ensure global accounting practices scale effectively with growth and complexity

• Oversee enterprise-wide lease accounting execution under current accounting standards
• Ensure completeness, accuracy, and consistency across regions and asset types
• Partner with technical accounting to implement guidance in a practical, operational way

• Identify execution gaps, inefficiencies, and manual workarounds across accounting
• Lead targeted improvements that reduce risk while supporting business velocity
• Build scalable processes to support growth, acquisitions, and evolving business models

• Work closely with operations, legal, FP&A, IT, and business leaders to embed accounting requirements into workflows
• Serve as a pragmatic accounting partner who can influence outcomes without creating friction
• Act as a primary point of contact for external auditors on operational accounting matters
• CPA required
• 12+ years of progressive accounting leadership experience
• Strong foundation in technical accounting with hands-on operational execution experience
• Deep experience with revenue recognition and global accounting environments
• Proven ability to design, implement, and enforce scalable accounting processes
• Experience leading teams across multiple locations and functions
