The Accounting Intern is responsible for providing assistance with the accurate, timely, and relevant recording, reporting, and analysis of financial information in a shared services environment.
Responsibilities- Support Fixed Asset accounting and physical inventory audit process
- Assist in month end close and reporting process
- Prepare, record and analyze accounting transactions
- Perform account analysis and reconciliation
- Review ledger accounts, recommend and prepare adjusting journal entries
- Ensure the completeness and accuracy of accounting records
- Identify opportunities to streamline business processes and procedures to improve efficiency of the month/quarter close process
- Participate in the documentation and execution of accounting process and procedures
- Support various operational activities, audit deliverables, ad hoc projects or analyses as requested
- Interact daily with accounting team and internal customers
- Working towards a Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance or equivalent education
- Must be detail-oriented and organized to ensure quality results
- Ability to work as a team member, multi-task, analyze information to draw a conclusion and meet deadlines
- Understanding the basic principles of accounting
- Have intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word applications

Technical AbilitiesTechnologically savvy with proficiency in MS Office Suite and working with ERP, Accounting and Reporting software; experience with Oracle JD Edwards Enterprise One Accounting Software.

Physical RequirementsWhile performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is often required to talk, hear at normal speaking levels, sit and use their hands and fingers to type, handle or feel, including repetitive motions with the wrists, hands and fingers. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with arms and hands, this is a sedentary position involving sitting most of the time.
Vision abilities required by this job include close vision for extensive computer use, reading and visual inspections.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is primarily in a general office environment and occasionally in other. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate. The position is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
Travel RequirementsMinimal travel required.
Pay RangeThe pay range for this role is $21-$22 per hour, however, base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. Candidates will be assessed and provided offers against the minimum qualifications of this role and their individual experience.
