Legal Assistant (Legal Operations & Risk Support)
We are seeking a detail‑oriented and proactive Legal Assistant to support a dynamic Legal Department. This entry‑level role provides critical support across legal operations, including insurance and claims administration, billing, and general legal administrative functions. The ideal candidate is highly organized, collaborative, and eager to grow within a fast‑paced, cross‑functional environment.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with the processing, tracking, and administration of insurance claims, including auto, workers' compensation, and related matters.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external partners to collect documentation and monitor claim progress.
- Maintain accurate and organized records related to claims, insurance matters, and legal correspondence.
- Review and process invoices, billing statements, and expense‑related documentation for legal and insurance functions.
- Support budget tracking and reporting for legal and risk‑related expenditures.
- Provide administrative support to the legal team, including document preparation, filing, and calendar coordination.
- Organize and maintain legal files, case records, and compliance documentation in accordance with established procedures.
- Facilitate communication between internal departments, external counsel, and third‑party vendors.
- Handle confidential and sensitive information with a high level of discretion and professionalism.
- Perform additional administrative and operational duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Legal Studies, Risk Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 1-3 years of experience in a legal, compliance, insurance, or administrative support role.
- Basic familiarity with legal and insurance terminology and documentation practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
- Professional office setting with occasional interaction in operational environments.
