Job Description

Provide general office assistance as determined by the Business and Social Sciences division. Duties include answering phones, greeting visitors and students at the front desk, assisting students, faculty, and staff with daily tasks and special projects, and performing other office duties as needed.

Schedule Information

Work schedule will be determined based on student availability. Must have some availability to work during the following weekday hours:

  • Monday: 8:00am – 4:30pm
  • Tuesday: 8:00am – 4:30pm
  • Wednesday: 8:00am – 4:30pm
  • Thursday: 8:00am – 4:30pm
  • Friday: 8:00am – 4:30pm

Maximum hours per week: 20 hours.

Qualifications

Education Requirements:

Current Harper College student, registered for a minimum of 6 credit hours each semester (fall/spring) or at least 3 credit hours in the summer session or at least 6 credit hours in the following fall semester. Eligible for English 097 or higher.

Experience Requirements:
Some general office or customer service experience preferably in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Bilingual students are always needed but not a requirement of the job.
