PurposeThe Senior Transportation Analyst optimizes logistical operations, freight movements, and supply chain efficiency by analyzing data, monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs), and implementing technology solutions. They bridge the gap between IT, operations, and management, driving cost reductions, process improvements, and strategic decision-making in transportation mode, fleet management, and carrier performance.
Key Responsibilities- Data Analysis & Reporting:
Analyze transportation data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and cost‑saving opportunities. Create dashboards and reports for operational and financial metrics (e.g., fuel consumption, carrier performance, freight spend). - System & Process Optimization:
Evaluate and enhance data extraction from multiple systems and demonstrate proficiency in other software tools. Map and document current, end‑to‑end transportation processes. - Strategic Planning:
Support business strategies through network optimization, carrier performance, and project management. Develop business cases, cost/benefit analyses, and project proposals. - Stakeholder
Collaboration:
Act as the liaison between business units, IT, and external partners (carriers, vendors). - Performance Monitoring:
Monitor KPIs and operational metrics, such as on‑time delivery, to ensure compliance and quality.
- Analytical
Skills:
Strong ability to interpret complex data sets and translate them into actionable business insights. - Technical Proficiency:
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, SQL, RPA, and data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, PowerPoint). - Industry Knowledge:
Understanding of logistics, transportation modes (TL, LTL, Ocean, Air), and supply chain principles. - Communication & Problem‑Solving:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to present findings to management and resolve operational issues. - Education/
Experience:
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in engineering, supply chain management, logistics, business, or a related field, with 5‑10 years of experience.

The anticipated salary range for this position is $90,000 - $120,000, and includes benefits such as the following:
