Student Aide - Library Services

QUALIFICATIONS

Education Requirements:

Must be a current Harper College student and enrolled in at least six credits per semester.

Experience Requirements:

• Ability to multi‑task.
• Ability to work well under pressure.
• Team player.
• Detail oriented.
• Outgoing.
• Basic keyboarding/data entry skills.
• Customer service experience is a plus.

Must have availability to work during the following hours:

• Sunday: 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
• Monday: 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
• Tuesday: 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
• Wednesday: 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
• Thursday: 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
• Friday: 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
• Saturday: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

• Shelves library materials according to the Library of Congress Classification System.
• Maintains stacks and ensures public service areas are in order.
• Responsible for maintaining study rooms.
• Checks library materials and technology in and out.
• Sorts and organizes library material and technology returns.
• Assists with front desk coverage.
• Provides information to patrons in person, by telephone, and makes necessary referrals; assists patrons as needed.
• Troubleshoots fax machines, printers, computers, print stations, and book‑scanning stations.
• Assists with outreach tables and programming.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
