Qualifications

Education Requirements:

Must be a current Harper College student and registered for a minimum of 6 credit hours for each semester (fall/spring) you are working. For the summer session, student aides must be registered for at least 3 credit hours in summer or at least 6 credit hours for the following fall semester. Be eligible for English 097 or higher.

Experience Requirements:
Some general office or customer service experience preferable in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Bilingual students are always needed but this is not a requirement of the job.

Job Description

General Function:
Reception.

  • Answer phones.
  • Greet visitors.
  • Special projects.
  • Assist faculty/staff/students.
  • Schedule appointments.
  • Check‑in/intake of students.
  • Make copies.
  • Data entry.
  • Give directions.
Responsibilities
  • Provide general office assistance as determined by the division.
  • Answer phones.
  • Greet visitors and students at front desk.
  • Assist students, faculty and staff with daily tasks and special projects.
  • Perform other office duties as needed.
Schedule Information

Work schedule will be determined based on student's availability. Must have some availability to work during the following weekday hours:

  • Monday: 8:00 am – 4:30 pm
  • Tuesday: 8:00 am – 4:30 pm
  • Wednesday: 8:00 am – 4:30 pm
  • Thursday: 8:00 am – 4:30 pm
  • Friday: 8:00 am – 4:30 pm

Maximum hours per week: 20 hours.
