Qualifications

• License: 42.11306.
• Education:
  
  Associate degree in early childhood education or related field, Level 4 Illinois Gateways Teacher Credentials.
• Experience:
  
  Two years of teaching experience in early childhood setting.

• Plan and implement the preschool program activities under the direction of the Early Childhood Lab School Supervisor.
• Maintain a safe and healthy classroom and arrange a classroom environment in accordance with program goals and philosophy.
• Oversee the practicum students from the Early Childhood Education program.
• Assist in the management of the preschool classroom.
• Interact with the children, scaffold learning and encourage their involvement in activities.
• Participate in parent involvement program.
• Report classroom experiences and collaborate with the Early Childhood Lab School Supervisor.
• Communicate with parents through newsletters and parent conferences.
• Use authentic assessment practices to assess learning and maintain cumulative records of children's development.
• Participate in registration process as required.
• Attend professional meetings and maintain professional competence.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
