ABOUT US QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in music education, early childhood music, or related field; formal training in early musicpedagogy required.
• Proven experience teaching group classes to young children (0-7years).
• Passion for diverse learners; bilingual/multilingual skillsstrongly preferred (e.g., Mandarin/Cantonese, Spanish, Polish,Russian, Korean, Japanese, etc.) to serve our multiculturalcommunity.
• Excellent communication, positive attitude, and responsiveness toemails/inquiries from coordinators and families.
• Commitment to lifelong musical development and high instructionalstandards.
• Ability to teach related instruments is a plus.

Harper College Community Music and Arts Center seeks an Early Years Music Instructor to lead engaging group classes for children ages 0-7. This position starts in the Fall 2026 semester(contingent on enrollment) and involves evening/weekend hours plusattendance at student recitals and performances.

Work is primarily indoors and sedentary.

Utilizes standard office equipment to perform the duties of thejob.

Under the direct supervision of the Coordinator of the Community Music and Arts Center.

Teach interactive group music classes focused on early childhooddevelopment (ages 0-7), incorporating historical instruments,songs, and activities from early music traditions.

Develop age-appropriate lesson plans, assessments, and curriculathat foster musicality, motor skills, language, and socialgrowth.

Maintain a consistent teaching schedule and communicate proactively with parents/guardians.

Integrate technology (e.g., apps, recordings) to enhanceinstruction.

Collaborate with other instructors for mixed-age classes.
